Oct 22, 2010 - Whats te brand of the tools you use? Have you a set miniature woodturning tools such as Crown, henry Tailor or Hamlet? Or do you use standard tools in the smallest size?

MrLeonard55 Says:

Nov 3, 2010 - Hi. Is the wood green or kiln dried?

Mar 2, 2011 - What idiots disliked this? So he didn't say what size blanks he was using, pick up a cheap plastic set and you'll get an idea of proportions. Great vid, i too would like any sheets you have on making them. I have quite a lot of dry bog oak and blackwood and I'm contemplating whether to get holly or boxwood for the other set. I suppose any contrasting woods would look well.

Sep 15, 2011 - l see where you don't charge anything for your 3 or 6 piece sample in various woods. Would you consider hand turned and rubbed writing instruments. If this is do able, let me know how many and send be your snail mail address and I will shoot it out the next day.

Oct 18, 2011 - hey, i am a big chess fan, and i really want to make my own chess peices by carving them. I do not have a lathe, i just want to do it with a set of carving knifes i bought. is this a realistic aim? even if it takes alot of time.

Jan 4, 2012 - 0.o This is awesome.. I wish I had a lathe, sadly I live in an apartment and don't have room. Any suggestions on how to make such nice pieces without a lathe?

Jan 17, 2012 - This is beautiful. Like the art of chess itself, it looks like it requires talent, patience, and hard work. Thanks for uploading.

silverfoxuk1 Says:

Feb 13, 2012 - First set up blank held by screw chuck with tailstock centre supporting right hand end of piece. When main shaped turning is done release the talstock centre to allow to shape the end. The screw on left hand end should be able to support the chess piece.See photo at .058 showing piece only supported by the screw.
